The Athens Rock and Gem Club is a non-profit organization located in Athens, Georgia. Its objective and purpose is "to promote the recreational, educational, and scientific aspects of lapidary arts, rock and mineral collecting, and earth sciences, for adults and children".

Meetings are usually the third Tuesday of the month, excluding June, July, December, and August. In December (Christmas party) and June (picnic), special dates & locations are announced.

The next meeting of the Athens Rock and Gem Club will be Tuesday, October 19, 2021 The meeting will be at the Athens Clarke County Library, 2025 Baxter St, Athens, GA 30606.

When you go in the main lobby of the library look for the first room on the left. The meeting will be from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, but come a little early if you can.

Jim Maudsley will give a program on "The Collection and Preservation of Dinosaur Bones" He will also talk about his trip to Wyoming. Members are urged to bring specimens collected in the last year or so to show.

Annual dues are $15.00 (single adult) and $17.50 (family of two); $20.00 (family of three or more). Dues are due by the October meeting of each year. Checks should be made out to the Athens Rock and Gem Club and sent to the Treasurer. If a family membership, please provide the names of all individuals in the family who will take part in any club activities.
